The German Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture and Regional Identity, Alois Rainer, confirmed that Morocco represents for Germany "a strong partner in the African continent."
The German official explained, in a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Moroccan pavilion within the activities of the International Green Week in Berlin, that Morocco's participation in this major international event dedicated to agriculture and food has "great importance" for Germany.
In this context, Rainer praised the efforts made by Morocco to address the global challenges facing the agricultural sector, reiterating his country's will to "maintain the good cooperation relations with Morocco and strengthen them further within a framework of equality."
Rainer, a member of the Christian Social Union, one of the parties in the new German government coalition, participated in the opening ceremony of the Moroccan pavilion, which took place on Friday, alongside the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed Elbouari.
On the occasion of its eleventh consecutive participation in this event, which is one of the largest international exhibitions dedicated to agriculture and food, Morocco is represented by an important delegation led by Elbouari, and includes institutional officials and professionals in the agricultural sector.
The Moroccan participation, which is organized under the slogan of excellence, falls within the framework of highlighting the quality and valorization of regional products, which meet the highest international standards in terms of quality, health safety and traceability, while highlighting the continuous efforts made by Moroccan cooperatives.
The International Green Week in Berlin, which was established in 1926, is one of the oldest international exhibitions dedicated to agriculture and food. The 2026 session is organized under the slogan "100 Years of Green Week: Where History Meets the Future."
This event, which lasts for ten days, brings together about 1,600 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, who display their products, innovations and modern trends in the sector.
It also constitutes a space for discussion on major current issues, such as climate protection, the circular economy, the conservation of natural resources, and the sustainable use of land.
The International Green Week in Berlin also constitutes the starting point for the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, which is the most prominent international conference dedicated to anticipating the future of the agricultural and food sectors, and is being held this year under the slogan "Water. Crops. Our Future."
