HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
A well-executed security operation carried out by the judicial police in Agadir, in close coordination with the "DGSN", resulted in the arrest of two individuals with criminal records suspected of involvement in criminal activity related to the promotion of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The individuals in question, aged 21 and 34, were arrested on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 21st, at the Ameskroud toll station east of the city of Agadir, immediately after their arrival in a light vehicle bearing a forged license plate from one of the northern cities of the Kingdom.
The search operation carried out in the context of this case enabled the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs, represented by approximately 150 kilograms of chira, in addition to 210 grams of cocaine, as well as an additional quantity of Indian cannabis powder, reflecting the extent of the suspected criminal activity.
The process of pinpointing the identity of the detainees in the national security database showed that they were wanted nationally under two search warrants issued by the security services in Salé and the Royal Gendarmerie in Settat, on suspicion of involvement in other cases related to drug trafficking.
The suspects have been subjected to custody, by order of the competent public prosecutor's office, pending further investigation to reveal the remaining potential perpetrators and monitor the possible extensions of this criminal activity.
