Teaching and administrative staff at the Prince Moulay Rachid Secondary School in the city of Midelt organized a protest this morning, Friday, January 23rd, accompanied by a solidarity statement, following the decision to dismiss the school principal, Mrs. Hanan Al-Asri, from her administrative duties.
According to sources within the institution, the protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the dismissal decision, considering it came unexpectedly and without providing sufficient clarification regarding its circumstances and reasons, affirming that the dismissed principal was performing her administrative and educational duties in a way that served the interest of the institution and the students, and in full respect of the laws and procedures in force. In the solidarity statement that was read during the protest, the protesters emphasized what they described as the "participatory approach" that characterized the management of the dismissed principal, and her contribution to improving the work environment within the institution, and pushing forward the wheel of discipline and educational stability, demanding that the authorities reconsider the dismissal decision and open a transparent administrative investigation that clarifies its circumstances. The participants in the protest also called for respecting the principle of good governance and linking responsibility with accountability according to objective standards, warning of the repercussions of such decisions on the normal functioning of educational institutions and on the morale of educational and administrative staff. It is worth noting that this protest passed in a peaceful and organized atmosphere, where the protesters affirmed their determination to continue legitimate forms of struggle in the event of a lack of positive interaction with their demands, in a way that guarantees the dignity of the administrative staff and the stability of the educational system in the institution.
