HIBAPRESS
Global rapper Nicki Minaj visited the White House today, Wednesday, just hours after appearing on stage with US President Donald Trump. A video clip posted by Margo Martin, the President's special assistant, on the X platform (formerly Twitter), showed Minaj greeting a group of car workers in the Oval Office with Trump.
This visit comes within the framework of the notable political shift of the Trinidad and Tobago-born rapper, who has become one of Trump's most prominent supporters in recent months. Last November, Minaj gave a speech before the United Nations about the alleged plight of Christians in Nigeria, after praising a post by the President on social media. She also praised the Trump administration in December during the "America Fest" conference organized by the "Turning Point" organization, accompanied by the organization's CEO, Erika Kirk. This political shift is remarkable, especially after Minaj had previously criticized Trump's policies regarding the separation of immigrant families, confirming in a post on Facebook in 2018: "I came to this country as an illegal immigrant at the age of five. I can't imagine the terror I felt being separated from my parents." Following her visit to the White House, Minaj posted a picture on the X platform of the "Trump Golden Card", a new immigration visa that allows foreigners to pay a million dollars to expedite the visa application process, confirming that she has started the citizenship paperwork procedures under the supervision of the President, and described him as "her wonderful, kind and charming president," adding: "Trump's Golden Card is free." This step confirms Nicki Minaj's clear support for Trump and reflects a significant shift in her political course compared to her previous positions, which has attracted the attention of followers and observers alike.
