HIBAPRESS – A.Sayyad
The news of the death of director and screenwriter Mohamed Ahed Bensouda was not just a passing piece of news in the news bulletins, but a heavy moment of silence that overshadowed the Moroccan artistic scene. He was a name who chose to work away from the spotlight and leave his mark within the image and meaning, before passing away at the age of 56.
The deceased is considered one of the quiet and influential names in the field of directing and screenwriting, where his works were distinguished by a special vision that made art a human stance and the image a language of expression, going beyond the logic of display to the depth of the idea and the truthfulness of the message.
Bensouda's departure left deep sadness among artists, who expressed their shock and regret at the loss of a name known for his morals before his works. Among these testimonies is a touching message from the actor Hicham El Ouali, who bid farewell to his friend with words that touched the hearts of the followers, which read:
“The death of our friend, director Ahed Bensouda… And to God we belong, and to Him we shall return. Your departure was not a passing news, but a heavy silence that surprised our hearts. You were absent as only the good ones are absent, without noise and without sufficient farewell.”
El Ouali added that the presence of the deceased in the cinema was not just a professional practice, but a reflection of morals, taste, and humanity, confirming that he made the impact before he made the film, and that the sincerity of his soul preceded his artistic success.
For her part, the artist Bouchra Ahriche expressed her deep sadness, where she shared a picture that brought her together with the deceased, and wrote commenting on it: “May God have mercy on you, my dear brother, my friend and my companion. My condolences to his wife and daughters. To God we belong, and to Him we shall return,” in words that reflected the depth of the human bonds that brought the deceased together with his colleagues within the artistic community.
With the departure of Mohamed Ahed Bensouda, the Moroccan artistic scene loses a director who believed that art is a message before it is fame, and that the image can say more than words.
