The Cervantes Institute and the Spanish Embassy in Morocco are organizing nine musical concerts between February 23 and March 11 as part of the "Ramadan Nights" program in several Moroccan cities.

A statement from the Cervantes Institute explained that the launch of this event will be next Monday in Rabat, at the National Higher Institute of Music and Choreographic Art, through the "Jinan Al-Andalus" concert, a project inspired by Sufi music and led by Moroccan violinist Hamid Agbar, adding that this show will continue its tour in the cities of Casablanca (February 24), Marrakech (February 25), Fez (February 26), and Tetouan (February 27).

The "Jinan Al-Andalus" project, which draws from the rich spiritual and poetic heritage of Andalusia, offers a new reading of Sufi poems and muwashahat by great figures, such as Ibn Arabi, Rabia al-Adawiyya, Al-Shatri, Al-Harraq, and Al-Busiri.

The National Higher Institute of Music and Choreographic Art in Rabat will also host, on March 2, a concert by the famous Moroccan guitarist Simo Bouazzaoui and his band, in an evening that combines the enthusiasm of flamenco music and the richness of Moroccan classical music.

Bouazzaoui, who has participated in many festivals in Morocco and Spain, is one of the prominent figures in flamenco circles for his exceptional technical skill in playing the guitar and his sensitive musical sense, as he has dedicated his artistic career for a decade to building bridges of musical communication between the two countries.

Through his instrument, he has proven that flamenco and traditional Moroccan music speak a single emotional language, which is the language of music that, despite its different origins, awakens the same feelings. In this regard, the concert presented by his band proposes a repertoire that combines Spanish, Andalusian, and Sufi music.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the same institute will host on March 9 the "Ghani Garzo" group in a concert entitled "When Evening Falls," with the tour continuing in the cities of Casablanca (March 10) and Tangier (March 11), offering a rich and captivating musical experience.

The "When Evening Falls" show celebrates the poets and writers in Andalusia who played a pivotal role in the culture of their time and left a prominent mark on the history of literature, by presenting traditional music based on the poems of the two poets Hafsa al-Rakuniyya and Wallada bint al-Mustakfi, in a harmonious blend that combines Eastern and Western music.
