A number of cancer patients and their families in the city of Fez have expressed their strong dissatisfaction with the ongoing shortage of some essential medications for treatment inside the Hassan II University Hospital Complex in Fez, confirming that they have not received their treatments for more than a month and a half, which threatens their treatment path and increases their health and psychological suffering.
A number of patients explained, in separate statements, that the delay in providing chemotherapy medications led to the suspension of scheduled treatment sessions, pointing out that some of them were forced to wait for long weeks without any adequate explanations about the date of availability of these medications or the reasons for this shortage.
The affected people held the hospital administration and the relevant authorities in the health sector responsible for this situation, demanding urgent intervention from the health authorities in order to provide the medications as soon as possible, and to ensure the continuity of treatment for patients who depend on them primarily in their treatment path.
The patients' families confirmed that the situation has become worrying, especially since the delay in receiving treatment may directly affect the health condition of cancer patients, calling for finding urgent solutions and avoiding the recurrence of such crises within public health institutions.
This situation raises questions about the reasons for this shortage and the extent to which mechanisms are available to ensure the continuity of supplying hospitals with vital medications, especially those related to serious diseases. Pending official clarifications from the competent authorities, patients and their families hope that intervention will be made quickly to end their suffering and guarantee their right to treatment.
