HIBAPRESS – Agencies
Israeli authorities continue to close the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Jerusalem, and prevent worshippers from reaching it, for the 17th consecutive day, under the pretext of security conditions related to the American-Israeli war on Iran.
The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) stated on Monday that "for the first time since 1967, the occupation has prevented worshippers from performing prayers and retreats in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as worshippers were absent from the last Friday of Ramadan." The Jerusalem governorate had warned of the dangerous escalation in the incitement discourse led by the so-called "Temple organizations" against Al-Aqsa Mosque, in light of the ongoing closure procedures. It confirmed that "what is happening cannot be considered temporary security measures as the occupation authorities claim, but rather falls within a political and ideological path that aims to change the existing religious, historical, and legal reality in the blessed mosque."
