The judicial police in the Marrakech security directorate were able, this Tuesday afternoon, March 24, to arrest a 39-year-old person with a criminal record, on suspicion of involvement in a case of blackmail and threats of violence.
The information vigilance services had monitored a video clip published on social media pages last Monday evening, showing a person exposing a foreign citizen to blackmail and threats of violence in the old city of Marrakech.
Preliminary investigations and investigations carried out at the Marrakech security directorate revealed that the police services did not receive any complaint, report or telephone report via "Line 19" regarding this criminal incident.
In order to apply the law, the published video was dealt with as a report of alleged crimes, where a judicial investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, which made it possible to identify the suspect, who has many previous criminal records, including tourist guidance without a license and violence against ancestors, before he was arrested during a security operation that was carried out in the rural area of "Zamran" on the outskirts of Marrakech.
The suspect has been subjected to a judicial investigation that is being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, to reveal all the circumstances and circumstances of this case, as well as to determine the real backgrounds behind the commission of these criminal acts.
