HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
The city of Ait Melloul witnessed, yesterday evening, Wednesday, an exceptional security intervention during which a police officer was forced to brandish his service weapon as a precaution, in order to control a person who posed a serious threat to the safety of citizens.
Preliminary data indicate that the suspect, who is 26 years old and has a criminal record, was in an advanced state of intoxication. He got into a random fight on the public street before the situation developed dangerously, after he sought refuge with a woman and her small child, threatening them with a white weapon. In the face of the escalating threat and the refusal of the person in question to comply with the security elements, the security patrol was forced to intervene decisively, where a police officer brandished his service weapon without using it, in a step that enabled the neutralization of the danger and the arrest of the suspect in safe conditions, with the seizure of the white weapon used in the incident. The person in question has been placed under custody, as part of the judicial investigation that is being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, with the aim of uncovering all the circumstances of the incident and determining the real motives behind this criminal behavior. This intervention reflects the speed and readiness of the security services in dealing with dangerous situations, especially those related to intoxication cases, which are often unpredictable and pose a direct threat to public security.
