HIBAPRESS – Rabat

The Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Faouzi Lekjaa, confirmed that the government, under the instructions of His Majesty the King, has taken a series of proactive measures to protect the purchasing power of citizens and maintain price stability, in light of developments in the Middle East and the tensions associated with the war with Iran.

Lekjaa explained, in his speech during the press conference that followed the government council's work, that among the most prominent of these measures is keeping the price of butane gas at its current level, despite the increases recorded in prices internationally. The government official pointed out that the state has significantly increased the value of the subsidy allocated to butane gas cylinders, where the state's contribution has increased from 30 dirhams to about 87 dirhams per cylinder, with the aim of avoiding any increase that might burden the citizens. He added that the monthly cost of these measures reaches about 600 million dirhams, within the framework of the government's keenness to ensure price stability and protect the purchasing power of Moroccans.
