The local union offices in the Rabat-Salé region have announced their categorical rejection of the joint statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and the National Bureau of the National Union of Higher Education, considering that it did not provide any practical solutions to the outstanding files and did not rise to the aspirations of the research professors.
The offices indicated that the statement reproduced previous commitments without binding deadlines, which empties them of any practical effect and deepens the resentment in the university. They stressed the need to set clear dates for the implementation of the basic demands, foremost among which is the generalization of nine years of notional seniority for all research professors as an urgent constitutional right. The offices called for unifying ranks and strengthening union unity, stressing that the current stage represents a turning point that requires clarity of positions and firmness in defending rights, and according to the text of the statement, it announced its readiness to launch an escalating struggle program, including continuous field protests, and the rejection of Law 59.24 whose effects threaten the independence of the public university and the status of the research professor. The statement concluded by emphasizing adherence to the contents of the previous administrative committee statements, as a collective reference reflecting the will of the base and its right to defend its gains and dignity.
