HIBAPRESS: The anti-gang squad of the judicial police department in the Laayoune security directorate, based on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, last week, arrested five people aged between 23 and 31 years old, four of whom have prior criminal records, one of whom is nationally wanted for a case related to the trafficking of hard drugs, due to suspicion of their involvement in a similar case with the possession of a car of questionable origin and forged license plates.
According to a security source, it was possible to arrest two of the suspects in a light car rented in the Al-Wifaq area of Laayoune, caught red-handed trafficking a quantity of cocaine, while the third suspect was arrested in the Al-Raha area, before the search operation that was launched inside the main suspect's house, with the help of trained police dogs, resulted in the arrest of the rest of the suspects, and the seizure of 83 grams of cocaine, in addition to five white weapons, and an electronic scale, as well as the seizure of two cars, one of which is a four-wheel drive bearing two forged license plates, as well as a pair of forged license plates, and an important sum of money exceeding 24 million centimes was seized.
The security source adds that all those arrested have been subjected to custody under the supervision of the investigation supervised by the competent public prosecution, in order to determine all the criminal acts attributed to each of them, while research, investigations and technical expertise continue in order to reach all the possible extensions of this criminal activity.
