HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
"HIBAPRESS website" received a complaint from a citizen highlighting a situation he described as "alarming" within the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center in Casablanca, specifically in the central radiology department, due to the long waiting times for medical examinations.
According to the complaint, the complainant requested an MRI examination on February 27, 2026, before being given an appointment no less than nine full months later, set for December 8, 2026. He considered this an unreasonable period considering the nature of this examination and its crucial role in the early diagnosis of diseases. The complainant confirmed that this long delay is not only limited to the organizational aspect but also directly reflects on the health and psychological condition of patients, especially those whose medical conditions require rapid intervention or close follow-up. He pointed out that a large number of citizens, especially those with limited incomes, find themselves unable to resort to private clinics due to the high costs, making them hostages of long waits within public hospitals. The complainant demanded the need to shed light on this situation, which he described as "silent suffering," calling on the responsible authorities to urgently intervene to reduce appointment deadlines and improve the quality of health services within public hospitals. He affirmed that the goal is not only to convey his personal voice but also to convey the suffering of a large segment of patients who experience the same situation within the examination and diagnosis departments.
