HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Signs of chaos have returned to the renovation works of the entrances to the city of Ain Harouda in the suburbs of Casablanca, amidst criticism of the management of the project and the absence of several essential conditions that should be met in such works, especially concerning the safety of road users and workers.
The method of executing the works is causing dissatisfaction among road users, due to the lack of sufficient signage to alert drivers to the presence of the construction site, and the lack of clarity in temporary routes and traffic management, which raises questions about the extent to which the supervising company respects the basic principles of managing open construction sites with ongoing traffic.
The observations are not limited to the road conditions, but also extend to the working conditions of the laborers, where, as HIBAPRESS observed, there are signs inconsistent with the safety requirements that should be present within construction and renovation sites, necessitating urgent intervention from the supervising authorities.
These scenes bring to mind the criticisms that Ain Harouda witnessed in past months related to the method of carrying out some works, and the accompanying chaos, mismanagement, and waste of public funds. This made it imperative to intensify supervision and link responsibility with accountability, to avoid repeating the same mistakes in projects that are supposed to be completed according to clear standards and respect quality and safety conditions.
