HIBAPRESS – Taza
The Taza branch of the Moroccan Association for Human Rights has expressed its deep concern over the health developments of a female student who was involved in a tragic accident after falling from a public transport bus, as the bus continued to move with its door open, according to a statement issued by the branch on October 12, 2026.
The statement clarified that the student fell into a complete coma and was transferred to the intensive care unit of Ibn Bajja Provincial Hospital in Taza. It indicated that a delegation of association officials visited the hospital to check on her health status and communicate with her family, where, according to the same source, they noted a worrying deterioration in her condition.
In a related context, the rights branch expressed its condemnation of what it described as the indifference and negligence on the part of the public transport company's management in dealing with the accident and the student's family, holding the company responsible for the incident, in light of what it considered a disregard for safety and monitoring conditions inside the buses.
The association's branch called on the relevant security and judicial authorities to open an urgent and serious investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident and assign legal responsibilities, announcing its solidarity with Duaa and her family, and confirming its continued follow-up on the developments of her health condition and the case, with readiness to take legitimate measures to support the victim.
