Abdel Rahman Lounaisi, the parliamentarian for the southern Taroudant constituency, has become one of the political figures in the Taroudant province to be highlighted, following the appointment of Abdel Samad Guiouh as Minister of Transport and Logistics in the new government headed by Fatima Ezzahra Mansouri, along with government members by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on Friday evening, October 16th.
Lounaisi held the second position on the Independence Party's list in the southern Taroudant constituency, as the runner-up to Abdel Samad Guiouh. This enabled him to join the House of Representatives after Guiouh assumed governmental responsibility, according to the data related to the list's ranking and the applicable legal procedures.
Lounaisi's transition to the legislative institution is an extension of a political and community path he has accumulated over years. He served as the president of the Al-Deir municipality for four consecutive terms and has held the position of the regional secretary of the Independence Party in Taroudant since 2016.
On the academic and professional level, he completed his primary education in Al-Deir and obtained his baccalaureate degree in 1996 from Al-Shafshouni High School. He then earned his license from Ibn Zohr University in 2000. He also worked in the education sector for years before working in the office of the president of the Taroudant Provincial Council, experiences that added administrative work and local affairs management expertise to his career.
With his joining the House of Representatives, attention turns to the role Lounaisi will play in representing the people of southern Taroudant and defending their developmental and social issues, in light of local expectations related to infrastructure, basic services, and the promotion of territorial justice.
