HIBAPRESS – W.A.M

On Tuesday in Casablanca, a framework agreement was signed to establish a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening sustainable convergence between the university space and the national economic fabric, between the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises.

This agreement, signed by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Azzdine El Midaoui, and the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, Chakib Alj, aims to establish structured and sustainable convergence, and enhance the relevance of university training with the university needs of the national economy, especially in a context characterized by accelerating technological transformations and increasing competitiveness and employability requirements.

In a speech on the occasion, Alj said that the Kingdom has an outstanding human capital that includes approximately 1.1 million male and female students, of whom females represent about 58 percent, in addition to more than 150,000 graduates and about 11,000 male and female engineers who are trained annually, clarifying that the challenge lies in transforming this balance into mobilized competencies capable of serving economic growth and enterprise.

He stressed that “most of the existing relations between the university and the enterprise are based on initiatives that are not sufficiently structured. On this basis, this agreement aims to enhance this cooperation by establishing practical mechanisms, aimed at identifying the needs of competencies according to sectors, ensuring the continuous relevance of training, developing internships and alternating training, and strengthening aspects of integration with scientific research and innovation. The sectoral federations and representations of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises at the regional level will play a pivotal role in consolidating this cooperation on the territorial level and making it practical and effective.”

For his part, El Midaoui explained that this agreement embodies the joint will of the two parties to establish sustainable convergence between the academic space and the world of enterprise, within the framework of integration and joint construction, in a way that supports keeping pace with the economic, social and technological challenges facing the country.

He pointed out that the relevance of training with labor market needs constitutes a basic strategic lever to enhance the professional integration of graduates and support the dynamics of national development.

El Midaoui stressed that this agreement does not represent an end in itself, but rather a step in the path of establishing a structured and practical partnership, which is based on collective mobilization and the actual involvement of all concerned parties, in order to establish sustainable bridges between training, scientific research and the socio-economic fabric.

Through this agreement, both the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises are committed to structuring and institutionalizing cooperation between the academic world and the world of enterprise, and moving from circumstantial initiatives to an organized and permanent partnership.

This agreement includes several strategic axes, which include, in particular, the joint construction of training programs and their updating in consultation with economic actors, the development of internships and alternating training, and the strengthening of mechanisms for accompanying professional integration.

It also aims to promote continuing education for workers, the joint identification of competency needs in the short and medium term, and the organization of periodic meetings between universities and enterprises for dialogue, coordination and evaluation.

Through these measures, the two parties aspire to build an integrated system capable of contributing concretely to improving the relevance of training with the requirements of the labor market in a sustainable manner, in a way that serves the competitiveness of the national economy and develops human capital.
