HIBAPRESS – Agadir
The 'CrocoPark' in Agadir has launched a new exhibition highlighting one of the most distinctive dinosaurs in history, with a life-sized model of a Spinosaurus reaching 11 meters in length, in an experience that combines entertainment, education, and a significant aspect of Morocco's fossil history.
The Spinosaurus is characterized by a long snout resembling that of crocodiles, a large dorsal sail, and physical traits that made it adapted to aquatic or semi-aquatic environments. Fossil discoveries in the 'Kem Kem' region of southeastern Morocco have contributed to the scientific understanding of this creature, making the area one of the most prominent sites for studying African ecosystems during the Late Cretaceous period.
This experience takes visitors back to an era approximately 100 million years ago, when vast areas of southeastern Morocco were crisscrossed by biologically diverse river systems, inhabited by various species of fish, reptiles, and dinosaurs.
The new exhibition is part of 'CrocoPark's' initiative to link scientific discovery with Morocco's fossil heritage and bring this knowledge closer to the public, especially children and families, through a scene that simulates the environment in which the Spinosaurus lived, alongside fossils, footprints, and panels that evoke the world of the Cretaceous period.
The new model is now permanently available to visitors of CrocoPark Agadir, offering them an opportunity to discover one of the most famous creatures of the distant past in an experience that combines knowledge and enjoyment.
