The Al-Kursi neighborhood in the city of Oulad Teima witnessed a state of alert yesterday, Thursday, September 24, following several citizens being bitten by a dog described as rabid, necessitating the transfer of the injured to the hospital to receive necessary treatment.
According to local sources, the injured have been placed under medical care and provided with the necessary preventive injections to avoid contracting rabies, which is considered a dangerous disease if medical intervention is not timely.
The incident prompted the competent authorities and local administration to act and search for the dog in question, amid growing fears among residents of the spread of stray dogs in several neighborhoods of the city.
This incident brings to the forefront the demand for a more serious approach to the phenomenon of stray dogs, especially in residential areas with high citizen traffic, due to the danger they pose to the safety of residents, particularly children and the elderly.
