HIBAPRESS – Jerada
Sakka Municipality, through its official social media page, announced its inclusion among the areas benefiting from the collective land registration process. The municipality considered this step a significant gain for its residents, given the importance of this process in consolidating ownership and strengthening real estate security.
The municipality explained that this development is the culmination of a process of advocacy, correspondence, and institutional follow-up that began in 2022. The collective land registration file was submitted to the competent authorities, and it was subsequently reminded and its demands renewed in the following years.
According to the municipality's post, the President of the Sakka Municipal Council, on May 31, 2022, sent a letter to the Director of the National Agency for Land Registration, Cadastral Survey and Cartography in Jerada, under the supervision of the administrative authority, regarding the request to benefit from collective registration.
Correspondence on the file continued, with the municipality sending a second letter on September 18, 2023, to remind of the matter and emphasize the importance of accelerating the collective registration procedure within the municipality's territory. This was followed by another letter on May 12, 2025, in which it reiterated its demand for Sakka's territory to be included among the areas benefiting from this process.
On May 27, 2026, according to the data published by the municipality, a letter was sent to the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, through the administrative hierarchy, in which the municipality affirmed its continued efforts to benefit from the collective registration program.
Sakka Municipality considers its inclusion among the municipalities benefiting from the process to be the fruit of this continuous effort. It also relies on it to enhance real estate security, protect ownership rights, reduce real estate-related disputes, facilitate property utilization, implement projects, encourage investment, and support local development.
This file holds special importance for the residents of the municipality, given that land registration is linked to settling the legal status of properties and consolidating the rights of their owners. However, the actual benefit for the residents will remain linked to the stages of implementing the process and the procedures that will accompany it on the ground.
In conclusion, Sakka Municipality expressed its thanks and appreciation to the provincial authorities, competent services and bodies, and everyone who contributed to this development, considering it a new step towards addressing real estate issues and strengthening the foundations of development in the region.
