HIBAPRESS – I. Slimlali
The Rabat Court of Appeal, late on Monday evening, upheld the preliminary ruling issued against "Ben Snasnas," in addition to closing his channels on social media and banning him from practicing content creation for a period of three years.
The decision came after a lengthy session that lasted for hours, during which the defendant's defense presented its legal arguments, seeking leniency and the annulment of the preliminary ruling. The deliberations concluded with the confirmation of the sentence issued in the first stage, along with the approval of measures related to his digital activity.
The Court of First Instance in Temara had convicted him last July, in connection with the incident of skinning a deceased dog on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. This case had sparked widespread controversy among animal welfare associations. He was acquitted of the charges of killing an animal or mutilating its limbs, but convicted of two charges: offending the Islamic religion and threatening to commit a misdemeanor.
