The "Don't Touch My Son" organization strongly condemned the acts of rioting and vandalism that accompanied protests in some cities last Tuesday night, stressing that these actions do not represent the real protesters nor do they reflect the peaceful slogans they raised.
The organization, in a statement signed by its president Najat Anwar, emphasized that the social demands expressed were peaceful and legitimate, and called for separating the act of civilized protest from acts of violence. The organization also appealed to the authorities to protect the safety of citizens and guarantee their rights and freedoms as guaranteed by the constitution, while affirming its firm rejection of all forms of violence, regardless of its source.
