The Moroccan national beach volleyball team wins the African championship and qualifies for the Paris Olympics.

The Moroccan men’s beach volleyball team won their ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after being crowned African champions, which took place on Martil beach for three days.

The Moroccan team, made up of the duo Zouhair El Karawy/Mohamed Abicha, managed to retain the African title, after winning the final against the Mozambican team by two sets to zero, 21-18 and 21-12.

In the semi-final, Morocco beat third-ranked South Africa by two sets to one, 18-21, 21-18, 21-18 and 15-10.

In the women’s category, the Egyptian team managed to snatch the qualification card for the Paris Olympic Games, after winning the African title against its Nigerian opponent by two sets to one, 15-21, 21-16 and 15 -08, while the Moroccan team settled for third place after losing the semi-final match to the defending champion.

The president of the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation Bouchra Hajij stressed that the Moroccan men’s team continued to impose its African domination, after having managed to win all its matches in this African event, thus ensuring its presence in the arena. Olympic for the second time in a row.
