HIBAPRESS – Yassin Damiri
Ahmad Touizi, head of the Authenticity and Modernity group in the House of Representatives, directed a direct political message to the opposition groups during the discussion of the 2026 finance bill, confirming that the current government majority differs radically from its predecessors in the way it manages the relationship between its components.
Touizi said, in his intervention in the Finance and Economic Development Council, commenting on some of the opposition's interventions: "The government is cohesive, but it is not melted, and don't expect us to play the violin for our ministers like you used to do before." Touizi explained that the components of the current majority work within a framework of cooperation and integration, while preserving freedom of expression and constructive criticism within its bodies, stressing that the majority does not hesitate to direct observations to its ministers, regardless of their party affiliations, as long as the goal is to correct imbalances and enhance government effectiveness. Touizi added that this approach reflects a new will in political practice, based on clarity and frankness, far from the logic of courtesy or blind alignment. The head of the Authenticity and Modernity group affirmed that the current government majority bears its full responsibility in supporting and accompanying government work, but at the same time, it exercises its internal critical role to maintain a balance between political responsibility and parliamentary oversight. He stressed that the current stage requires all political actors, majority and opposition, to raise the level of public debate and focus on the fundamental issues that concern the citizen, instead of the debates that do not serve the national interest.
