The National Airports Office has launched a tender for the construction of a new terminal at Mohammed V International Airport, in a move aimed at expanding the airport's capacity and accommodating the increasing passenger traffic.
The project, covering an area of 450,000 square meters with a capacity of 20 million passengers annually, has an investment cost of 15 billion dirhams, with the bids to be opened in mid-December. The new terminal is expected to include a parallel runway with a length of 3700 meters and a width of 45 meters, along with taxiways and aviation infrastructure, in addition to aircraft parking and a new control tower rising to 42 meters. The terminal will also be connected to the high-speed train line linking Kenitra and Marrakech. The project is expected to be operational in 2029, as part of efforts to enhance the Kingdom's airport infrastructure and develop air transport services for passengers.
