The city of Tiznit, the capital of silver and the memory of the Amazigh south, is preparing to host the "Tiflawin" event to celebrate the Amazigh New Year 2976, during the period from January 10 to 14, 2026.
A renewed annual appointment that embodies the depth of the city's connection to its identity and history, and transforms the celebration into an open space for cultural and human interaction. This event, organized by the Tiznit community in partnership with civil society events and public institutions, falls within the framework of commemorating Iḍ n Yennayer as an integrated cultural practice, which is not limited to celebratory symbolism, but rather bets on culture as a lever for sustainable development, and a means of restoring the Amazigh material and immaterial heritage, and linking it to the transformations of contemporary society. – A cultural vision that goes beyond the celebratory aspect. The program includes artistic and heritage performances that reflect the richness of Amazigh musical and dance arts, in addition to creative and educational workshops aimed at children and youth, which aim to enhance the younger generations' connection to their cultural roots and consolidate pride in identity. Handicraft exhibitions also enjoy a significant presence, by highlighting the skills of traditional artisans and local products that form part of Tiznit's economic and cultural identity, in addition to special items on Amazigh culinary arts, as a sensory memory that stores the relationship between man, the land, and the seasons.
