MRE transfers: More than 46.3 billion dirhams by the end of May 2024

Fund transfers made by Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE) reached 46.38 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of May 2024, compared to 45.282 MMDH a year earlier, according to the Office des Changes.

These transfers thus show an increase of 2.4% or 1.098 billion dirhams, specifies the Office of Change in its bulletin on the monthly indicators of foreign trade for the month of May.

Similarly, travel revenues stood at 9.431 billion dirhams in May 2024 compared to 8.502 billion dirhams in May 2023 (+10.9%). For the first five months of 2024, these revenues increased by 1.6%.

Travel expenses, for their part, reached 2.357 billion dirhams in May 2024, against 2.132 billion dirhams a year earlier (+10.6%). These expenses increase by 22.6% for the first five months of 2024.
