Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to obtain an American green light in order to launch a potential attack on Iran, against the backdrop of what he considers a dangerous escalation in Iranian military threats related to the ballistic missile program and the reconstruction of air defense systems.
The Israeli radio "Kan" reported that Netanyahu intends to present data described as evidence of Iran's revival of its missile program and strengthening its air defense capabilities, considering that this path poses a more urgent threat than the Iranian nuclear program, according to American media reports. The Israeli radio added that the Israeli Prime Minister will request preliminary American approval for future military action against Iran, in light of the escalating regional tension and Tel Aviv's pursuit of rearranging its security priorities. In a related context, the same data indicated that Netanyahu will also emphasize Israel's rejection of moving to the second phase of the American plan regarding Gaza, unless Hamas hands over its weapons completely and delivers the body of the last hostage, Ran Goili. This trend comes amid internal political pressure in Israel that is pushing towards shifting the focus of attention from the Gaza Strip to the Iranian file, with an official confirmation of Tel Aviv's conditions related to reshaping the reality of Gaza under the supervision of the so-called Peace Council.
