US President Donald Trump confirmed on Wednesday, March 11, that the United States launched strikes targeting 28 Iranian ships to plant mines, since the start of the Israeli-American military attack against Iran.
The head of the US executive branch said in a statement to the press, on the sidelines of a visit to a factory in the state of Ohio (northern United States): "We have targeted 28 ships to plant mines so far," reiterating that the military attack against Tehran is advancing "more than" was expected. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) had urged Iranian civilians, hours before that, to stay away from the ports located on the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran uses, according to the US military, for military purposes. It explained in a statement that the Iranian regime is using civilian ports along the Strait of Hormuz to launch military operations that threaten international navigation, adding that "these dangerous actions threaten the lives of innocent people." It called on "civilians in Iran to immediately stay away from all port sites where Iranian naval forces are operating," hinting that the US military may direct strikes against these facilities.
