Radio Mars began broadcasting today, Monday, a statement issued by the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), which includes a disciplinary decision to issue a warning to the institution and suspend the program "The Truth in 90 Minutes" for a week.
This decision came after observing phrases in the program "Africa's Lion," which the authority considered offensive to a Moroccan national team player (Brahim Diaz), during the commentary on the African Cup of Nations final. The authority affirmed in its statement that the repetition of such violations requires strengthening self-regulatory mechanisms within the radio, highlighting the importance of the educational role played by sports media. According to this decision, the radio will continue to broadcast the penalty statement across its waves throughout the current week, at the same time as the suspended program, in implementation of the tasks of control and ensuring the provision of responsible and ethical media content.
