With great sadness, grief overshadowed the community of Hassi Berkane in the Nador province on Tuesday after the discovery of a sixty-year-old man's lifeless body inside a "Jab," following hours of mysterious disappearance that caused concern for his family and the residents of the area.
The moments of anticipation that everyone experienced since Sunday evening turned into a painful shock, after the search ended with news that saddened hearts and left a state of deep sorrow in the "Amhend Amzian" village. From the first moments of his disappearance, a state of alert prevailed among the surroundings of the deceased, who was 68 years old, as members of his family and neighbors engaged in extensive field search operations hoping to find him safe. However, finding his coat near the mouth of the "Jab" dispelled the last threads of reassurance, and led to the likelihood of his falling inside and quickly informing the civil protection elements. In a scene in which feelings of apprehension were mixed with regret, rescue teams arrived at the scene to begin a precise and complex intervention that required a lot of caution and concentration. After continuous efforts, the operation ended at noon today with the retrieval of the victim's body from the bottom of the Jab, under the supervision of the local authorities and elements of the Royal Gendarmerie, who accompanied the various stages of the intervention. The body of the deceased was transferred, by order of the competent Public Prosecution, to the mortuary of the Al-Hassani Regional Hospital in Nador for a medical examination. The results of this procedure are expected to reveal the full truth behind the death, and definitively determine whether the accident was accidental or if the incident had other circumstances.
