HIBAPRESS – Marrakech
Local authorities in Marrakech launched a wide campaign on Friday and Saturday to reclaim public property in the Al-Hassani neighborhood, within the Menara district. The operation targeted cafes, commercial establishments, and vendors who were exploiting sidewalks and roads without a license.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of 64 handcarts, 102 tables for displaying goods and fruits, and 85 iron chairs. Additionally, 30 tables and chairs belonging to cafes and shops were seized. The campaign also included the removal of 13 unauthorized awnings and the confiscation of 72 rubber tires used to occupy parking spaces and sidewalks.
This campaign, which involved local authorities, auxiliary forces, and local administrators, is part of efforts to organize public spaces, curb the random exploitation of sidewalks, and ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
