HIBAPRESS – Fikri Ouldali
Tonight, Sunday, May 3, 2026, a light earthquake was recorded, with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale, affecting the municipality of Sanada, which is part of the Beni Boufrah district in Al Hoceima province, at approximately 6:31 PM.
According to consistent data, residents of several neighboring areas felt the tremor, including Ait Kamra, Imzouren, and Beni Bouayach. Citizens reported that the aftershocks were short and lasted only a few seconds, but were more noticeable on the upper floors of buildings. No casualties or material damage have been recorded so far, according to initial available data. Meanwhile, the relevant authorities remain on alert to monitor developments. It is worth noting that Al Hoceima province is one of the areas that experiences frequent seismic activity, due to its geological location within a tectonically active zone, making the recording of such tremors not unexpected.
