HIBAPRESS – A. Muhayyawi
As part of the continuous efforts to ensure the safety of residents and protect lives and property, and following the recent rainfall in the region, the local authorities in the center of the Tunfit commune have begun the demolition of a number of clay residential buildings at risk of collapse, which posed a real danger to the safety of residents and passersby.
This preventive intervention came after a noticeable damage was recorded in these buildings as a result of their fragility and their impact by climatic factors, which necessitated taking an urgent decision to avoid any potential accidents that may result from their collapse, especially in light of the continued weather fluctuations. The demolition process was carried out under the direct supervision of the local authority, and in coordination with the various concerned services, where all the necessary precautionary measures were taken to secure and organize the process, ensuring the safety of citizens and not recording any human or material losses. This measure comes within the context of a proactive approach adopted by the competent authorities to reduce the risks of buildings threatened with collapse, and to enhance the conditions of public safety, especially in areas that are witnessing the spread of clay construction that is quickly affected by natural factors. The authorities supervising the operation confirmed that such interventions will continue whenever necessary, within the framework of keenness to protect the residents and maintain public security.
