HIBAPRESS – Berrechid
A state of alert was witnessed among Royal Gendarmerie elements in the Lakhyayta region, affiliated with the Sahel Oulad Hreiz commune in the province of Berrechid, on Saturday morning, October 10, 2026, following the discovery of a man's body inside a well approximately 80 meters deep.
According to preliminary information circulating, the deceased is a state engineer around 35 years old, married and residing in Casablanca. The incident mobilized elements of the judicial center of the Royal Gendarmerie affiliated with the Had Soualem brigade, in the presence of the brigade commander, to inspect the site and take the necessary legal measures.
According to the same information, the body of the deceased was transferred to the morgue, while an investigation was opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecution to determine the circumstances and details of the death and uncover the truth of the incident.
In a related context, unconfirmed information suggests a possible link between the body and a case of a missing person whose family had previously filed a complaint with the Royal Gendarmerie in Had Soualem, after his news had been cut off for about 15 days, pending official confirmation of his identity.
The circumstances of the body's discovery and the details of the death remain under investigation by the competent authorities, pending the investigation's findings, without preempting its conclusions or asserting criminal suspicion before official data is clarified.
