HIBAPRESS – Fnideq
The city of Fnideq and the areas adjacent to the occupied city of Ceuta witnessed an intensive security deployment on Wednesday, coinciding with the circulation of calls on social media platforms to organize a mass crossing attempt towards the city.
Security measures included reinforcing monitoring and inspection points on several routes leading to Fnideq, where the identities and documents of road users were verified, along with tightening surveillance on pathways and areas close to the crossings. These measures coincided with the legislative elections held today, Wednesday, September 23rd.
Circulating footage showed a number of police cars, public forces trucks, and armored vehicles deployed around Fnideq and areas close to occupied Ceuta, in addition to surveillance helicopters.
Security measures also extended to the routes connecting Tangier, Tetouan, and Fnideq, while specialized services continued to monitor the calls circulating on social media platforms, which had set September 23rd as the date for the mass crossing attempt towards occupied Ceuta.
According to field data published by media outlets today, the situation around Fnideq and occupied Ceuta remained calm until midday, with no mass crossing attempts recorded during that period.
