A person died on Friday evening, October 9, 2026, after their car was swept away by flash floods in the Ait Saoun Valley, located between Ouarzazate and Agdz. This tragic accident brings to the forefront the dangers of crossing valleys during periods of rainfall and rising water levels.
According to preliminary information, the floods surprised the car, before the valley waters swept it away, resulting in the death of its driver. The incident has caused great sorrow, amid renewed fears of the dangers posed by sudden floods to road users and areas adjacent to valley streams.

This incident comes in the context of weather fluctuations experienced in several regions of the Kingdom, and the potential for a sudden rise in water levels and flow strength. This necessitates the utmost caution and avoidance of risks when crossing valleys and road sections submerged by water.
